Destoroyah and Zetton - Against Life by earthbaragon Destoroyah and Zetton - Against Life by earthbaragon
Spent all day trying to hammer out the shading on this one. So tired. Need sleep.

Oh well. This is Destoroyah and Zetton. Two of the most powerful monsters ever to grace the screens in Japan. Two beasts that immortalize the word anti-life. Their entire existence is to propagate death to the living. Death incarnate I suppose they are. So I figured, why not pair them up.

Destoroyah was the final monster to face Godzilla in the 90’s Timeline. His birth was completely man-made. An ancient form of crustacean life, mutated most likely due to the Oxygen Destroyer (A weapon that I have him clutching in his claws in the picture). He goes through several stages of evolution before settling on the above demon like form. He can spew an Oxygen Destroying beam from his mouth and, by generating energy in his horn, can slice through a foe like a hellish katana sword. Add this with his wings for flight and crab like pincher tail, Destoroyah has came and conquered fans hearts the world over.

Zetton was the final monster to face Ultraman in the original 1966 series. He is an organic like machine, created by the Zetton race. It’s sole purpose is to kill and conquer. The beast was designed to counter all of Ultraman’s powers. He can teleport across a battlefield, generate a force field, shoot plasma shots from it’s “eyes”, and shoot a thin red beam from it’s yellow face plate. The monster can also absorb energy blasts with its hands, and redirect it back at it’s attack. All in all, it is a most horrendous beast. So much it actual kills Ultraman. A feat achieved by only a tiny handful of monsters and seijins in the Ultra Universe.

Should these two ever cross each others paths, I honestly do not know who would prevail. Destoroyah’s only real weakness is extreme cold or heat. Two things that Zetton does not necessarily have. I mean his energy attacks do have heat, but nothing really compared to Godzilla’s Spiraling Beam. But Zetton has the ability to move around and not really tire. It would be close but I just think that eventually the devil Destorayah would not be able to put up with the constant attacks of the machine like monster. Either way, they have both proved to be villains to never forget. To be death in the flesh

Well………hope you all enjoy the piece and my little rambling. I've wanted to do a split screen type graphic piece for a while now and liked how it came out. Now I'm going to take a two hour nap from this all nighter :) Just wanted to get this up as soon as possible. Peace G-fans!

I sort of doubt big G could survive his Ultra Slash. Though he probably could survive everything else. It's that Krillian Destructo Disk thing he has that would probably cut him in two.

While being cut in half is devastating, I doubt it would kill Godzilla. In GMK: GMAOA, Godzilla destroyed himself, but his heart was still beating. After the initial movie, the only thing to kill Godzilla was a flaw in his own physique. In Godzilla vs Destroyah, he was having a meltdown, in GMK, he blew himself up. In Godzilla vs Megaguirus, the humans fired a black hole at Godzilla. Obviously, it was not an immensely powerful one, it had to be weak enough not to be able to devour the Earth, but a black hole nonetheless. Godzilla just walked right out of the rubble after that, he was perfectly fine, even though everything else had been killed by the black hole. The only monster to ever 'kill' Godzilla was Super MechaGodzilla, and even then, Fire Rodan revived Godzilla directly after that, possibly removing the 'Second Brain' weakness Godzilla initially had. Unless Ultraman has got some ANEB in that Ultra Slash, Regenetator G-1 will keep Godzilla in the fight. Also, there's the size ratio. The original Godzilla was 50 m. Still taller than Ultraman, whom stands at 40 meters (Ultraman Zero stands at 49 meters. Still shorter than original Godzilla). If we're talking Heishi Godzilla or Millenium Godzilla, he stands at 100 m, which is more than double. Not saying that size makes the victor here (But it would against King Kong, hue), but his size could help lessen the impact of the Ultra Slash. Godzilla also has startling intelligence, despite what many stereotypes claim. His real name, Gojira, is 'gorilla' and 'whale', Whale describing his size and ability to survive easily in the water, and gorilla showing his immense physical strength and intelligence when battle other monsters. For example, in Godzilla Final Wars, he managed to hit an asteroid that was an incredible distance away and was moving at half the speed of light. Yes, Ultraman has the martial arts tactics. Please don't take me as just another Godzilla fanboy, but on a more personal note, I also think Godzilla fights more threatening monsters than either Ultraman or Gamera.

Oh my god, this isn't even about Destoroyah or Zetton anymore, sorry.

The tail is a bit odd but I am happy with the effect. Been dying to do one of these dividing line type of illustrations. Just something clean and pretty forward. Probably will do another Destroyah one later, just pick one of the lesser forms of his and again pair it up with something from the Ultra universe. Because sadly just Ultra monsters really do not get that much recognition as they should :P Especially if you opt out for something that is pretty obscured in the franchise. So that is why I rarely do single character illustrations. Just pair them up with something a bit more famous in the Toho universe and that will do.

That is a lot of monsters in that list haha. Really the only time I do that many is when I do my Ultra monsters sheets like the Jack one I did recently. Sadly I really need to set out and draw some more of those monsters but I am currently stuck on Ploom. Just an odd shaped cobra like head on that kaiju.

Zetton does actually have extreme heat on his side. According to Tsuburaya Productions, the plasma balls he fires are 1.8 trillion degrees Fierenhiet. Now I want to know how Destroyah, or any Toho kaiju would fair against the new, powered-up version of Zetton, Hyper Zetton.
