Well, it's been quite a while since my last video. But I got tagged for the Kaiju Tag game on Youtube...so I thought I would give it a shot. Hope people get a kick out of my responses
Kaiju stories are abound right now!
New GxK graphic novel. New movie novelization book. New toys and figures from Bandai and Playmates. Good time to be a kaiju fan. But on literature and book front, I did want to also point out and give some heads up to some of my watchers out there. Matthew Dennion will be having his next Atomic Rex book published within the next one or two weeks. Atomic Rex: Big In Japan. It is a crossover book with author Alan Barnes original Big In Japan book I think. (And honestly that is what the Atomic Rex character is now, he is a crossover monster and I think that works really well for him now). I also want to give props to a DA artist here that has been creating their own kaiju stories. They name is G2K4 They have been writing a lot of stories for the past few years and they are really knocking it out of the park. There is some really cool ideas there and some really awesome action. Good human characters and plenty of monster fun. He is currently uploading his Gamera story called Gamera:
Godzilla vs Jet Jaguar
Just......holy crap those are some rad looking scenes with JJ running and busting out the kung fu moves.
I got interviewed as an artist! :)
It's pretty much as the title says lol! I was recently interviewed by the owner of a Sakura Central. Which is a website devoted to dedicated to lovers of Japanese Media internationally. It features articles and artists from the kaiju community, anime community and Japanese cinema, along with cosplayers. The site auto translates to Japanese when someone from Japan visits the site. Kaijubrooklyn, (which is a kaiju convention opening up in New York this October is sponsoring them too!). And recently they interviewed Bob Eggelton for the site as a featured kaiju artists. (Yeah that man's work is so beyond amazing, words can't describe how fantastic his kaiju art is). Below is a link the main site. sakuracentral.net Recently I was asked for an interview and I jumped at the chance. The owner use to go on here on DA and I was always fascinated with their art. They had some super cool stuff honestly. But yeah, if anyone wanted to know a little bit more about me, you can read the
FilmCore History of the Trex in movies
Just wondering if anyone else has watched this new video from FilmCore. It's pretty cool stuff. The famous dino species has certainly had some crazy designs. Sure they are not all dinos. I mean Gwangi is an Allosaurus. The V-Rex is a Vastatosaurus rex. And Grimlock is a freaking robot :P . Still I liked the video a lot. I was sad to see Scarface from the 91 version of Land of the Lost not make it. Or the human like standing Trex that was in the Land Unknown. Or the feathered Trex from Dinosaur Island that was a mid 2010's flick. Still I think it is really cool video. :) Anyone else have any trex version that you wanted to see in the tribute?
